Programme Administrative and Finance Assistant – Uganda (September 2023)

​This is an exciting time to be joining WFD, we are now looking to recruit an experienced Programme Administrative Finance Assistant to support the development of our programme in Uganda.

Location: ​Kampala

Occasional in-country travel to support programme implementation and/or oversee activities may be required for the position.

Contract: Contract for Service. From September 2023 to March 31 2024. Full-time.

Programme Administrative and Finance Assistant – Uganda 


Under the direction of the Country Director and Finance Officer, the Programme Administrative and Finance Assistant (PAFA) will provide administrative and financial support to the programme team, including managing and recording transactions of the local office for reimbursement, monthly bank reconciliation, and supporting administration affairs such as scheduling travel plans, systems, and processes managements, contacting/contracting with suppliers, and stationery maintenance.


The core skills and experience we are looking for are;

  • A minimum of 2-3 years of relevant experience in managing bank accounts, transactions, supplier communication, and logistical support within a similar role or environment.
  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise and multitask effectively.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in work
  • Self-motivated and effectively plan and organise own workloads.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft 365 suite of Office products (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Dynamics)
  • Ability to work with a diverse and multi-disciplinary team.
  • Experience in working with international organisations, foreign affairs, public relations, accounting or consulting firm is a plus

This is a locally based field role; applicants must be eligible to work in Uganda.
